Backup My Shop is a free application for Etsy, Shopify, and Squarespace shop owners to create a backup of their own shop data, listings, and content for peace of mind.
Despite the fact that shop owners are utilizing a third-party ecommerce platform; shop owners are still running a legitimate business. They still must comply with all applicable business and tax laws just as any other business would regardless of which ecommerce platform they choose to sell through.
Therefore, as a business, shop owners should have the ability to have a backup of their own data just in case they need it for business continuity or posterity purposes.
In the very least, it offers peace of mind for wary shop owners who are concerned about abrupt disruptions to their business.
How it Works
- Create an account and login.
- Select which shop to connect to.
- Use your shop credentials to authenticate via OAuth.
- Select the shop (if there is more than one in your account).
- Select a cloud provider to securely transfer the backup to – Google Drive or Dropbox.
- Press the BACKUP button to get started.
- Watch the process happen automatically.
- That’s it!
Data is only stored locally until the backup process successfully completes. After that, all backup data is deleted from our system, and the only backup copy is securely stored in your cloud provider of choice.
